Do you know how to properly remove build-up from your strands? We’ve broken it down into tips for days when you need just a little cleansing boost, and days when you need an intense detox.
REMOVING LIGHT PRODUCT BUILD UP
Removing light product build-up is as easy as using a pre-poo. Before shampooing, apply it to your dry hair and massage throughout your strands. This will dissolve your build-up and make it easy to wash and rinse. Follow up by using your ORS Moisture Restore Creamy Aloe Shampoo, which doubles as a weekly shampoo and clarifying wash. A clarifying shampoo purifies. detoxes and deep-cleanses the hair. They can lift mineral deposits from hard water, along with other chemicals.
REMOVING HEAVY PRODUCT BUILD UP
For heavier build-up, we’d recommend mixing three parts water with one part apple cider vinegar. Bragg’s apple cider vinegar is the best brand to use. Get the formula with the “mother,” which is the original culture. Use a spray bottle to disperse the solution throughout dry, unwashed hair and massage. Let the solution sit for about 30 minutes and proceed with your wash.
You may also consider using a bentonite clay mask to help detox your strands and add definition. Mix bentonite clay (Indian Healing Clay) with water to create a paste. After your solution has been mixed well, add a teaspoon of olive oil. Apply this mixture to freshly washed hair or hair that’s been slightly dampened. Apply to your hair in a smoothing fashion, making sure to coat the scalp. Your hair might appear to be slicked down to your scalp. This is okay, as we’d advise using quite a bit. Wait 25 minutes and rinse thoroughly with warm water. Follow up with your
CURLS Cashmere + Caviar Hair Mask.
