How to Moisturizer After Getting the Big Chop

— September 02, 2020've cut your hair and you have no idea how to maintain moisture. We've got you covered. Here are three easy tips everyone should use after doing the big chop.

1. DAILY: Try the LOC (Liquid-Oil-Cream) method. Keep a spray bottle handy in your bathroom (filled with distilled water) and spritz your hair in the morning, followed by an application of Qhemet Biologics Coconut & Green Tea Softening Serum. Lastly, apply a creamy moisturizer like your Qhemet Biologics Burdock Root Butter Cream. Use your fingers to smooth in the cream and create small coils for better definition.

2. REMEMBER: Don’t be surprised if your don’t see a curl pattern early on. This is perfectly normal for those who have recently done the big chop after relaxing for years. Sometimes it can take up to three months for you to “cultivate your curl.” You may not start to a spiral until your hair grows a few inches. Fret not, you hair WILL curl.

3. MAINTENANCE: Intensify your deep treatments. Having short hair can sometimes fool you into thinking that you don’t need to do the same conditioning process as those with long hair. Wrong. You should be deeply conditioning your hair every week to nurture and moisturize. Your Aunt Jackie's Rescued Recovery Conditioner is a great place to start. Use a steamer or sit under the dryer for 30 minutes.
