How-To: Fingercoiling For the Newbie

Lucky for you, your hair naturally does what spiral sets allow others to achieve. Check out these tips to quickly fingercoiling your hair.

1. Shampoo and use a generous amount of your Dove Amplified Textures Recovery Mask to soften your tresses. Fingercoils work best on detangled, hydrated hair. Use a paddle brush to really work the mask through your hair. Rinse.

2. Apply a little Dove Amplified Textures Leave-in Conditioner to your damp hair and smooth and finger comb it through. This will ensure that your finger coils are shiny and bouncy. Keep hair ties handy and part your hair in horizontal rows starting from the nape of your neck. Apply Dove Amplified Textures Shaping Butter Cream to each section and consider using a boar bristle brush to smooth each section before fingercoiling.

3. Part a small square in your horizontal row and twist tightly at the root, continuing to fingercoiling all the way down. Your hair should look like one long coil.

4. Set your hair for 30 - 45 minutes under a dryer. You can separate your coils for a fluffy curly look or leave them in and wear it as a protective style.

Have you tried fingercoiling?
