What I love most about Thanksgiving and the holidays in general, is that the year is winding down, work slows down and I’m able to reflect on my gratefulness. I don’t have to travel as much this time of year, so I get to spend time with friends and family, do a bit of shopping and check out new restaurants in town! I really love this time of year. So, without further ado, here are 10 things I am absolutely grateful for this year!
1) The #curlBOXCrew
Can you believe that curlBOX is turning TWO in February? Where has the time gone? I’m so thankful for this wonderful group of sisters that supports each other, lifts each other up and gives a good “GO GIRL!” or “EVERY-THING!” when you need it. Some members go off and on, but our motto is once a member, always a member. We love sharing with you on social media and I have to tell you that you make my days brighter and without a doubt, you have made my life brighter. You have allowed me to share myself, my dreams and my passion. I can’t thank you enough. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve. Thank you. *wipes tears*
2) My TEAM
There’s just no way I’d be able to do this all myself. I’m thankful for every single person involved in making what I do go off without a hitch (and when there are hitches, they step in and correct immediately). I’m SUPER thankful to have a right and left hand named Diana. She has worked with me for years and beyond working together, she is loyal and has just been there when I needed to just say, “I’m TIRED!” I have a team of awesome peeps that keep me going and I really don’t know what I’d do without them. They are always right there when I need them and for that, I am forever grateful.
3) UBER App
Have you tried that app yet? After LONG days of working, I have to say that I don’t even WANT to drive! After a long night at the office, I go home and park my car and hit the app and let them come pick me up, take me out and bring me back home! I can have my sips and not worry about getting in trouble. And you never have to have any cash.
4) My Parents
My Mom is my forever friend. We’re friends first. I’m sure she’d hate to hear me say that but it’s true. She wants to know how I’m doing, what’s going on, who said what. She’s always there to encourage and keep me going. My Dad is the coach. He wants to fill in the gaps. Love them.
5) My Friends
Sometimes this whole life and work and life and WORK thing is hard. Who can you turn to? My friends know when to step up and step in and remind me to LET LOOSE every now and then.
6) Itaysha Jordan
She is a fab photographer that I’ve had the opportunity of working with. Her work just makes me smile. I’m thankful for her having the courage to share her art with us.
7) The Hot Foods Section at Whole Foods
I can pretend that I’m having a home cooked meal when I’ve just had too much dining out! LOL! I had the herb chicken with greens and mac & cheese last week. Honey, let me tell you!
8) Self-Clean Option on my Oven
I just discovered this last week!! Do you know I’ve gone ALL year with an “interesting” oven? Just when I was getting ready to clean it, I noticed the button. Four hours and it’s CLEAN! Bring on dripping turkeys and stuffing! Oooohhh Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I can’t wait to see all of your outfits and food (Sidebar: Have you seen @CookingForBae on IG, though?) NO STRUGGLE PLATES! *lol*
